MY WAY OF INTRODUCING PARTS OF SPEECH & NOUNS AS SUBJECT AND OBJECT

I was invited to teach for IEP (INTERVENTIONAL ENGLISH PROGRAMME) of Form Two Students in one of secondary schools  in Kota Bharu.

I since then, have been preparing a suitable lesson for two hours of teaching. Since learning grammar is mostly not favoured by majority students, I have to make the lesson as interesting as possible just to make them feel the excitement of learning English and most importantly they do not reject me in the first meeting...ahaaa....

I got a strong feeling that what i have projected and planned for the lesson will be of utmost acceptable and most likely could instill their liking towards grammar.

This is my lesson plan for 2 hours of teaching :

+ Introduction to 8 Parts of Speech ( Referring to handouts )

+ Exercises on recognising each P.O.S are given

+ Brief intro about ' Sentence ' & ' Sentence Structure ' (SVO)

   - Provide exercises on Nouns as Subject & Nouns as Object

+ Group Activity / Interactive Games

   - Each group has to read one short article from the newspaper (NST/THE STAR)

   - Find 10 Nouns as Subject & Find 10 Nouns as Object

   - Write all Nouns in vocabulary book and find meaning from the dictionary

+ Alternative Activity

   -  Students are to form group comprises of 3 person.

   -  Each student has to represent Subject, Verb and Object respectively.

    - The group comes to the front and Subject has to write one Noun word on the board. ( it can either        be a Singular Nouin or a Plural Noun )

    - Then, Subject has to pass the marker pen to Verb. The Verb has to write a suitable Verb word and        lastly forward to Object to complete the sentence.

    -  Group with more correct sentences wins the game

By sharing it here, this can be used for my later reference and may be as reference for other teachers as well...

Don't forget to drop me some comments of this teaching lesson !

Good Luck to me and to you too !!!
