PRESENTING A TALK ON WRITING TECHNIQUES TO PT3 CANDIDATES

Done my job !!

As expected, giving a talk on writing techniques is not an easy job. To make them understand the whole writing process and steps of writing.

How to write an intro ?? What is Thesis statement ?? Why do we need Thesis statement ??

Aaarrr... too much to know and definitely it's too technical.

After all, I've tried my very best. Hope they could digest well.

HAS GOT vs HAS GOTTEN

Apa beza Has Got & Has Gotten Teacher ?

Teacher dapat soalan ini secara tiba2 semasa kendalikan kelas English untuk pelajar menengah di BEZZ English Zonia (B.E.Z)

Bagus juga pelajar bertanya sebab kadang2 teacher tak perasan yg pelajar tidak tahu.

Ok...agak2 apa bezanya atau mungkin tiada beza pun.

Keduanya adalah BENTUK PRESENT PERFECT TENSE. Tetapi Has Got digunakan dalam BRITISH ENGLISH manakala HAS GOTTEN pula untuk AMERICAN ENGLISH

Jgn suruh teacher explain pula apa itu PRESENT PERFECT TENSE :)
Contoh ayat macam ni...

She has got a letter of appointment from the new office

Ada satu lagi info yang perlu tahu dan PENTING untuk tahu.

Has/Have Got juga digunakan bagi menggambarkan pemilikan ( possession )
dalam American English.
Faham ke ? :) :)

They have got 5 children.
How many children have you got ?

So kena hati2 la ya....Have got ( AE ) ini tiada kaitan dgn Present Perfect Tense :) :)

Mind Our Pronunciation

It's been a while I don't share anything about English language. Spending more time on teaching and preparing lessons for class and also for BEZZ English Zonia.

In mind, there are lots to be shared but time and determination are always the major hindrance.

How I wish I could be a persistent and consistent writer like some others who never fail sharing fruitable and thought provoking ideas and postings . Special kudos to these amazing people ♡♡

Ok then, let's focus on Pronunciation. I guess there are words that we think are easy and do not realise that we are actually pronounce them incorrectly.

There are many but here I just want to highlight on these 4 words.

1. COMFORTABLE
2. VEGETABLE
3. WEDNESDAY
4. CHOCOLATE

Check your own pronunciation for these words.
How many syllables do you think in the word Comfortable.
I believe that many of us pronounce this word with 4 syllables. Am I right ?
/Kam fer te bel/ (Not the correct phonetic symbols )

But the right way to pronounce this word is only with 3 syllables /Kamf te bel/
(Please refer to the attached phonetic symbol)

Same goes to Vegetable. Not 4 syllables
/Ve gi te bel/ but only 3 /Veg te bel/

Exciting right ?

Remember don't say /Cho ko let/ or /Cho ke let/ BUT it's /Chok let/ Or Worst of all Kelantanese would say /Cha ke la'/ :) :) :)
