TENSION Vs TENSE

Semalam saya bincang tentang BORING vs BORED, hari ni mari bincang pula tentang 2 lagi perkataan yg sering juga disalah gunakan iaitu TENSION vs TENSE .

Pernah dengar tak dialog begini ?

" I am so tension ! Lots of works need to be done."
" Kenapa dengan you ni...? Nampak tension je."

Betul ke penggunaan TENSION di atas? Jawapannya SALAH. Kenapa ?

TENSION - (Noun/Kata Nama) : satu perasaan gusar dan bimbang yang menyebabkan sukar untuk relax/tenang. (kegusaran/kebimbangan)

Exercise is the ideal way to relieve tension after a hard day.
The tension is becoming unbearable and I want to scream.

TENSE - (Adj/Kata Sifat) : rasa bimbang, tidak selesa dan tidak tenang.

Is anything wrong? You look so tense.
Massage is great if your neck and back are tense.

Aha...! Hope you catch it well.

No more worried and tense !
It's time to move forward. Just leave the tension and depression behind .

Have a nice day ahead !

BORING Vs BORED

" I rasa boring sangat hari ni..."

" Boring, boring, boring ! Tak tahu nak buat apa..."

Dialog seperti ini sering diucapkan dlm perbualan. Persoalannya betulkah penggunaan perkataan BORING dlm situasi di atas ?

Boring = Adjective (kata sifat ), menggambarkan situasi @ suasana@sifat seseorang . Tetapi boring TIDAK digunakan untuk menggambarkan perasaan.

Sebaliknya, penggunaan BORED adalah lebih tepat utk menggambarkan perasaan. Lihat contoh di bawah :

He is the most boring person I've ever met.
The job is dull and boring.

I am bored with my present life.
Are you bored with your job ?

Note :     Bored - menerangkan/menggambarkan perasaan (feeling)
               Boring - menerangkan/menggambarkan sesuatu yg
                              menyebabkan anda bored/bosan.

The boring class makes me exceptionally bored !

Take note ya....learn more,reduce errors

CORRECT EXPRESSIONS FOR LEAVE TAKING

Many of us prefer to use this expression when expressing leave taking :

" I'm sorry, i need to go first... "

Is this expression correct or another Manglish like "where got?", "can or not?", "got or not?', etc.

These are the correct ways of expressing leave-taking :

I am sorry, but i have to go

I have to leave now, i will see u later.

I must be getting along. It is getting late.

Have a try !
